Safety of toys – part 9: Organic chemical compounds – Requirements

This Part 9 of the !standard" EN 71 for safety of toys specifies requirements for the migration or content of certain hazardous organic chemical compounds from/in certain toys and toy materials (see Table 1) by the following exposure routes: - mouthing - ingestion - skin contact - eye contact - inhalation when used as intended or in a foreseeable way, bearing in mind the normal behaviour of children and the function and design of the toy. This !standard" does not contain requirements for chemical toys, experimental sets or finger-paints, which are addressed by other parts of EN 71. Packaging materials used with toys are not within the scope of the !standard" unless they form part of the toy or have intended play value

Natural gas - natural gas for use as a compressed fuel for vehicles - Part 1: Designation of the quality

The aim of this part of ISO 15403 is to provide manufacturers, vehicle operators, fuelling station operators and others involved in the compressed-natural-gas vehicle industry with information on the fuel quality for natural gas vehicles (NGVs) required to develop and operate compressed-natural-gas vehicle equipment successfully. Fuel meeting the requirements of this part of ISO 15403 should a) provide for the safe operation of the vehicle and associated equipment needed for its fuelling and maintenance; b) protect the fuel system from the detrimental effects of corrosion, poisoning, and liquid or solid deposition; c) provide satisfactory vehicle performance under any and all conditions of climate and driving demands. Some aspects of this part of ISO 15403 may also be applicable for the use of natural gas in stationary combustion engines.


Natural gas - natural gas for use as a compressed fuel for vehicles - Part 2: Specification of the quality

This Technical Report addresses the specifications of natural gas as a compressed fuel for vehicles as an addendum to ISO 15403-1. Specifically, it is intended to satisfy requests for quantitative data. The following are critical items regarding gas composition: ⎯ water content; ⎯ sulfur compounds; ⎯ particulate matter; ⎯ higher hydrocarbons; ⎯ CO2; ⎯ free oxygen; ⎯ glycol/methanol; ⎯ oil content ⎯ corrosive components; This Technical Report pertains only to compressed natural gas as it enters the fuel containers on the vehicle. Earthquake Loads: General Rules

A.1.1 This part deals with the procedure for calculating the lateral forces and their distribution on structures induced by earthquake ground shaking and which shall be used in their seismic design. A.1.2 Requirements of this part are intended to preserve the integrity of structures in the inelastic range of response when subjected to earthquake ground shaking of moderate or high intensity. A.1.3 These provisions do not deal with the distribution of forces among the various components in the structures or the computation of stresses produced by these forces. A.1.4 Requirements of this part may be applied to buildings of any type, chimneys, towers, and elevated tanks. A.1.5 Calculation of lateral earthquake forces on structures in accordance with other well recognized international codes of practice is allowed, provided that the minimum seismic zone factor and ground motion representation specified in this document are considered in the analysis. A.1.6 Structures such as bridges, dams, tunnels, underground structures, domes, shell roof, and other structures not covered in section A.1.7 may require special and more sophisticated procedures for determining their design earthquake loads, and therefore, they are not covered under these provisions. However, the design of these structures shall comply with the minimum seismic zone factor and ground motion representation specified in this document.

Packaging- Management of hygiene in the production of packaging for foodstuffs- Requirements

This European Standard specifies requirements for a hygiene management system for manufacturers and suppliers of food packaging including storage and transportation. This European Standard enables an organization to:  plan, design, implement, operate, maintain and update a hazard analysis and risk assessment system that ensures the production of food packaging materials conforming with the hygiene requirements;  demonstrate conformity with agreed customers’ hygiene requirements;  demonstrate the effectiveness of the system;  help food manufacturers to provide adequate evidence to compliance with food and packaging safety regulations;  ensure that it complies with its stated hygiene policy;  demonstrate such compliance to other interested parties;  seek registration or certification of its food packaging hygiene management system by an external organization. This European Standard can be applied to all organizations wishing to implement an adequate and effective hygiene management system in the field of food packaging manufacturing including producers and suppliers of materials and services to the packaging manufacturers. It is intended that this European Standard be applied in conjunction with a quality management system such as EN ISO 9001. Dentistry- Dentifrices- Requirements, test methods and marking

This International Standard specifies requirements for the physical and chemical properties of dentifrices and provides guidelines for suitable test methods. It also specifies requirements for the marking, labelling and packaging of dentifrices. This International Standard applies to dentifrices, including toothpastes, destined to be used by the public on a daily basis with a toothbrush to promote oral hygiene. Specific qualitative and quantitative requirements for freedom from biological and toxicological hazards are not included in this International Standard. These are covered in ISO 7405[1] and ISO 10993-1[2].


General rules for the design and installation of ceramic tiling

This Technical Report applies to internal and external floor and wall ceramic tiling, installed by both cement mortar and adhesive methods. The aim of this Technical Report is to define the quality of ceramic tiling and the main general rules associated with materials selection, design, installation and use that should be followed to ensure that the required levels of quality and performance are achieved. Adhesives for tiles - Determination of transverse deformation for cementitious adhesives and grouts

This European Standard specifies the test method to be used to determine the transverse deformation of cementitious ceramic tile adhesives and grouts. This European Standard is applicable to all cementitious ceramic tile adhesives and grouts for internal and external tile installations on floors and walls. It is not applicable to non-cementitious adhesives and grouts , e.g. dispersion and reactive resin adhesives and grouts. This European Standard does not contain performance requirements or recommendations for the design and installation of ceramic tiles.
