Social Responsibility Forum

LIBNOR and the General Union of Arab Chambers have organized the “Social Responsibility for Banks and Arab Companies” Forum in Beirut Adnan Kassar building on the 16th of September 2014. The objective of the Forum was to highlight the social responsibility of businesses, the importance of maintaining the balance between required resources and the economic and developmental needs of the community, to present some leading experiences in this area and to identify proper means to disseminate the concept of social responsibility, adopting it as a strategy within the businesses and enterprises internal systems.
Three national consultants received awards for their efforts in implementing sustainable strategy in 2 pilot organizations that were selected as case studies and presented at Berlin.
The consultants are: Mr. Mohamad Chamas (SR expert and trainer)
Mr. Georges Abi Rached (SR expert)
Mrs. Iman Chehab (SR expert)
The Forum addressed the following themes:
A) The role of the chambers and their associations in disseminating the concepts of social responsibility in the private sector
B) Social responsibility of banks and their expected leading role
C) Relation between the production and services sectors and social responsibility
