Aggregates for Mortar

This European Standard specifies the properties of aggregates and filler aggregates obtained by processing natural, manufactured or recycled materials and mixtures of these aggregates for use in mortar, e.g., a) masonry mortar, b) floor/screed mortar, c) surfacing of internal walls (plastering mortar), d) rendering of external walls, e) special bedding materials, f) repair mortar, g) grouts, for buildings, roads and civil engineering works. This standard does not cover filler aggregates to be used as a constituent in cement or as other than inert filler aggregates for mortars or aggregates to be used in the surface layer of industrial floors. It provides for the evaluation of conformity of the products to this European Standard. NOTE 1 The requirements in this European Standard are based upon experience with aggregate types with an established pattern of use. Care should be taken when considering the use of aggregates from sources with no such pattern of use, e.g., recycled aggregates and aggregates arising from certain industrial by-products. Such aggregates, which should comply with all the requirements of this European Standard, could have other characteristics not included in Mandate M 125 that do not apply to the generality of aggregates types with an established pattern of use and when required, provisions valid at the place of use can be used to assess their suitability. NOTE 2 Properties for lightweight aggregates are specified in prEN 13055-1.

Portable lead-acid cells and batteries (Valve regulated types)- Part 1: General requirements, functional characteristics- Methods of test

IEC 61056-1:2012 specifies the general requirements, functional characteristics and methods of test for all general purpose lead-acid cells and batteries of the valve-regulated type: - for either cyclic or float charge application; - in portable equipment, for instance, incorporated in tools, toys, or in static emergency, or uninterruptible power supply and general power supplies. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition of IEC 61056-1 published in 2002. It constitutes a technical revision. The main changes consist in adding new battery designations and an update of the requirements like the one concerning the marking.

Portable lead-acid cells and batteries (Valve regulated types)- Part 2: Dimensions, terminals and marking

This part of IEC 61056 specifies the dimensions, terminals and marking for all general purpose lead-acid cells and batteries of the valve regulated type : • for either cyclic or float charge application; • in portable equipment, for instance, incorporated in tools, toys, or in static emergency, or uninterruptible power supply and general power supplies. The cells of this kind of lead-acid battery may either have flat-plate electrodes in prismatic containers or have spirally wound pairs of electrodes in cylindrical containers. The sulphuric acid in these cells is immobilized between the electrodes either by absorption in a microporous structure or in a gelled form. This standard defines the dimensions of the batteries in length, height and width, as well as the shapes of the terminals. The lead-acid cells and batteries which are described in this standard should be tested according to the requirements of IEC 61056-1. This part of IEC 61056 does not apply for example to lead-acid cells and batteries used for • vehicle engine starting applications (IEC 60095 series), • traction applications (IEC 60254 series) or • stationary applications (IEC 60896 series). Conformance to this standard requires that dimensions, terminals and marking correspond to these requirements.

The regulators covered by this standard are designed for a maximum outlet pressure of up to and including 200 mbar and a maximum rate of up to and including 4 kg/h. this European Standard also applies to the safety devices which are supplied as part of the regulators. The characteristics of these devices are given in annex A and B. The requirement of this European Standard apply generally to regulators used in location where temperature likely to be reached during use is between – 200 C and +50 0C,+50 0C being the maximum temperature allowable for the cylinder. When the devices are subjected to temperatures below this range, they shall comply with special requirements defined in annex C. Regulators designed for specific purposes (caravans and motor caravans) which are subjected to special requirements are dealt with in annex D. This European Standard does not include the installation rules for regulators and their possible associated safety devices. In this matter, reference should be made to national regulations in force in the member countries. Regulators which are intended to be used with gases containing methylacetylene and propadiene are excluded from the scope of this European Standard. WARNING NOTICE: The figures in annexes G and H show the types of connections used according to the country of use of the regulators. The top part of these figures (above the horizontal line) applies to the regulator and is normative. The bottom part of these figures (below the horizontal line) applies to the tap (or the valve) to which the regulator if field. This I given as a guide for the tests and is not normative.
