Underground installation of flexible glass-reinforced thermosetting resin (GRP) pipes – Part 2: Comparison of static calculation

This part of ISO 10465 presents a comparison of the ATV and AWWA methods for static calculations on underground GRP pipe installations. It is intended that this comparison will encourage the use of both procedures for GRP pipes conforming to International Standards. It is not the intent of this part of ISO 10465 to cover all the details of the two methods. Some aspects are, of necessity, very complex, and for a full understanding the original documents need to be studied in detail. Rather, the intention is to give a general overview and comparison of the key elements so that the user can more easily understand and appreciate the differences between the two procedures and their similarities.

Underground installation of flexible glass-reinforced thermosetting resin (GRP) pipes – Part 3: Installation parameters and application limits

This part of ISO 10465 gives supplementary information on parameters and application limits for the underground installation of flexible glass-reinforced pipes based on unsaturated polyester resin (GRP-UP). It is particularly relevant when using an ATV-A 127 type design system. Explanations for the long-term safety factors incorporated into the GRP system standards based on simplified probabilistic methods are provided in Annex G

Structural design of buried pipelines under various conditions of loading –Part 1: General requirements

This standard specifies the requirements for the structural design of water supply pipelines, drains and sewers, and other water industry pipelines, whether operating under atmospheric, greater of lesser pressure. In addition, this standard gives guidance on the application of the established methods of design used in CEN member countries at the time of preparation of the standard.

Construction and testing of drains and sewers

This European Standard is applicable to the construction and related testing of drains and sewers usually buried in the ground and usually operating under gravity but up to 0,5 kPa when surcharged. The construction of pipelines operating under pressure is covered by this European Standard together with EN 805 as appropriate (e.g. for testing). This European Standard is applicable to drains and sewers installed in trenches, under embankments or above ground. For trenchless construction EN 12889 applies. Additionally, other local or national regulations may apply, e.g. concerning health and safety, pavement reinstatement and requirements for tightness testing. NOTE Further information is given by reference to national documents listed in Annex D.

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 1993 and constitutes a merge between the first edition of IEC 61210 published by SC23F and IEC 60760 published in 1989 by SC48B. This second edition does not introduce major technical modifications

Uninterruptible power systems (UPS)- Part 3: Method of Specifying Performance and Test Requirements

IEC 62040-3:2011 applies to movable, stationary and fixed electronic uninterruptible power systems (UPS) that deliver single or three phase fixed frequency a.c. output voltage not exceeding 1 000 V a.c. and that incorporate an energy storage system, generally connected through a d.c. link. This standard is intended to specify performance and test requirements of a complete UPS and not of individual UPS functional units. The individual UPS functional units are dealt with in IEC publications referred to in the bibliography that apply so far that they are not in contradiction with this standard. The primary function of the UPS covered by this standard is to ensure continuity of an a.c. power source. The UPS may also serve to improve the quality of the power source by keeping it within specified characteristics. UPS have been developed over a wide range of power, from less than hundred watts to several megawatts, to meet requirements for availability and quality of power to a variety of loads. Refer to Annexes A and B for information on typical UPS configurations and topologies. This standard also covers UPS test and performance when power switches form integral part of a UPS and are associated with its output. Included are interrupters, bypass switches, isolating switches, and tie switches. These switches interact with other functional units of the UPS to maintain continuity of load power. This standard does not cover: - conventional a.c. input and output distribution boards or d.c. boards and their associated switches (e.g. switches for batteries, rectifier output or inverter input); - stand-alone static transfer systems covered by IEC 62310-3; - systems wherein the output voltage is derived from a rotating machine. NOTE 1 This standard recognises that power availability to information technology (IT) equipment represents a major UPS application. The UPS output characteristics specified in this standard are therefore also aimed at ensuring compatibility with the requirements of IT equipment. This, subject any limitation stated in the manufacturer's declaration, includes requirements for steady state and transient voltage variation as well as for the supply of both linear and non-linear load characteristics of IT equipment. NOTE 2 Test loads specified in this standard simulate both linear and non-linear load characteristics. Their use is prescribed with the objective of verifying design and performance, as declared by the manufacturer, and also of minimising any complexity and energy consumption during the tests. NOTE 3 This standard is aimed at 50 Hz and 60 Hz applications but does not exclude other frequency applications within the domain of IEC 60196. This is subject to an agreement between manufacturer and purchase in respect to any particular requirements arising. NOTE 4 Single phase and three-phase voltage UPS covered by this standard include without limitation UPS supplying single-phase, two-wire; single-phase, three-wire; two-phase, three-wire, three-phase, three-wire and three-phase, four-wire loads. This second edition cancels and replaces first edition published in 1999 and constitutes a technical revision. The significant technical changes are: - reference test load - definition and application revised (3.3.5 and 6.1.1.3); - test schedule - presented as a single table grouped by revised type and routine tests (see 6.1.6, Table 3); - dynamic output voltage performance characteristics - guidance to measure - addition (Annex H); - UPS efficiency - requirements and methods of measure - addition (Annexes I and J); - functional availability - guidance for UPS reliability integrity level classification - addition (Annex K).

NOTE 1 Such fuse-Iinks are commonly referred to as “semiconductor fuse-links”. NOTE 2 In most cases, a part of the associated equipment serves the purpose of a fuse-base. Owing to the great variety of equipment, no general rules can be given; the suitability of the associated equipment to serve as a fusebase should be subject to agreement between the manufacturer and the user. However, if separate fuse-bases or fuse-holders are used, they should comply with the appropriate requirements of IEC 60269-1. NOTE 3 IEC 60269-6 (Low-voltage fuses – Part 6: Supplementary requirements for fuse-links for the protection of solar photovoltaic energy systems) is dedicated to the protection of solar photovoltaic energy systems. NOTE 4 These fuse-links are intended for use on systems employing the standardized voltages and tolerances of IEC 60038. Tests carried out on fuse-links in accordance with previous editions of this standard shall remain valid until such time as complimentary equipment has evolved to the standardized voltages and tolerances of IEC 60038. The object of these supplementary requirements is to establish the characteristics of semiconductor fuse-links in such a way that they can be replaced by other fuse-links having the same characteristics, provided that their dimensions are identical. For this purpose, this standard refers in particular to a) the following characteristics of fuses: 1) their rated values; 2) their temperature rises in normal service; 3) their power dissipation; 4) their time-current characteristics; 5) their breaking capacity; 6) their cut-off current characteristics and their I2t characteristics; 7) their arc voltage characteristics; b) type tests for verification of the characteristics of fuses; c) the markings on fuses; d) availability and presentation of technical data (see Annex BB).
